Non technical approaches to safety are as broad and varied as traditional technical safety. There is never an ‘off the shelf’ approach to this. We always work with our clients to establish exactly what they need, how they want to grow and what level of support they would like.
These are four broad areas we often help educate and develop workforces in:
Behaviour – Why do people make the decisions they do and how can we try to mitigate the potential negative consequences of these decisions?
Leadership – How can we positively influence people’s attitudes and decisions and create an environment that is able to change?
Communication – If safety based communication is so important, why do we tend to struggle with it so much? Why do crucial messages feel like we are just ticking a box? How do we change this counter productive expectation?
Culture change – How can we shift from an approach based around paper to one focused on people? How can we cultivate a mindset of continuous improvement against a history that primes us to accept failure avoidance?
If you are interested in behavioural safety and culture change please get in touch and we would love to work with you.
